Emotions of Change
Changemaking isn’t just strategy, indicators, or mission statements. It’s deeply emotional.
In this show, we dive into the emotions behind doing work that tries to make the world a better place. From anger to compassion, anxiety to joy—we’re here to share things we don’t usually see in LinkedIn posts or slide decks.
Why does this matter?
Because when you're trying to create change, feeling a lot is not only normal—it’s inevitable. Yet we rarely get space to understand how those emotions shape our work. That’s what this show is here for.
In each episode we explore one emotion through the raw, unfiltered story of a woman leading change somewhere in the world. These are not polished success stories. They’re honest and brave stories from the messy middle—the vulnerable, often invisible parts of change-making.
Then, we speak with guides—philosophers, therapists, practitioners—who help us learn how to navigate these emotions in ways that support both our well-being and our well-doing.
We made this podcast to help change-makers like you feel less alone and more supported in your emotional journey to make a difference.
If you’re doing the work and feeling everything that comes with it—we made this for you.

Emotions of Change
The part we keep quiet
Ep. 1 - The part we keep quiet with Michelle Grant.
After many years of hosting change-maker communities, Michelle Grant started to notice something. That there was plenty of space to talk about vision, strategy and impact. But no space to sit with the raw, contradictory, and often inconvenient emotions that come with trying to make a positive difference in the world. The actual experience of feeling, in real time, is still something we mostly do alone. We want to figure it all out first, go through the mess of it privately, and only share when we can neatly package our experience into learnings and wisdom. This brand new podcast series, Emotions of Change, is a public space to share different types of impact stories. Ones with real people and real feelings.
In this episode, Michelle shares her story behind creating this podcast and what it is we will do here together: sit with some of the hardest emotions in impact work. Not to solve them. Not to tidy them up into a neat takeaway and to do list. But to feel them. Together. To stay in that tender in-between, just a little longer. Each episode will explore one emotion through the raw story of a brave woman leading change, and then we will be joined by guides who help us navigate this emotion. So if you’re someone working toward change, and feeling more than you’re saying, this podcast is for you.
